What is recovery?

Recovery means different things to different people. It doesn’t always mean cure. For many people recovery means finding a new normal, rather than getting back to the way things were before.

For someone with a mental illness this can mean finding hope, understanding one’s strengths and weaknesses, having a positive sense of self and engaging in an active life.

PIR partners with clients so they don’t have to walk along the road to recovery alone.
